The Ballston Spa Central School District currently serves approximately 4,200 students from Pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Located in the heart of New York's "Tech Valley" (approximately 25 minutes north of Albany and 5 minutes south of Saratoga Springs), the area has been growing, both in residential and commercial development. As of the 2015 census, the 12020 zip code has over 31,000 residents spanning the 65 square miles of the district’s boundaries. A diverse socioeconomic population resides within our suburban district, which encompasses portions of the Towns of Milton, Malta, Ballston, and Charlton and the Village of Ballston Spa. The Malta Extension Center offers courses in business and the college’s allied health programs, including the Medical Administrative Assistant and Medical Assisting associate degree programs and the Health Services Administration bachelor’s degree.

The Malta site holds 5 Head Start classrooms. The program is available to low income families meeting the current guidelines for income levels, etc. Registration/qualification desired, secure location.
