The Ballston Spa Central School District currently serves approximately 4,200 students from Pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Located in the heart of New York's "Tech Valley" (approximately 25 minutes north of Albany and 5 minutes south of Saratoga Springs), the area has been growing, both in residential and commercial development. As of the 2015 census, the 12020 zip code has over 31,000 residents spanning the 65 square miles of the district’s boundaries. A diverse socioeconomic population resides within our suburban district, which encompasses portions of the Towns of Milton, Malta, Ballston, and Charlton and the Village of Ballston Spa. Over 140,000 people live within 15 minutes of Ballston Spa, supporting and working at over 5,500 businesses.

The Malta Extension Center offers courses in business and the college’s allied health programs, including the Medical Administrative Assistant and Medical Assisting associate degree programs and the Health Services Administration bachelor’s degree.

The Malta site holds 5 Head Start classrooms. The program is available to low income families meeting the current guidelines for income levels, etc. Registration/qualification desired, secure location.

A small, independent used bookstore (with some big ideas and a heart for the local community!). The Book Nook is a general interest bookstore and has something for most readers. The store opened in March 2023 with the idea that people should have a place to relax and enjoy browsing the books on the shelves.
